Check this out!!! Talk about a breathtaking view….

It’s always a fabulous day when you get news about a NEW luxury resort…especially when it’s on a private island in the Caribbean! This is TRAVEL THERAPY at its most luxurious!

Actually, I got an update as I’ve been keeping my eye on this place for quite some time. Here’s a sneak peak at the first new resort development to happen in the British Virgin Islands in 15 years! This photo is one of the first because this luxury property is still under construction and is slated to open next year. With a price tag of more than 100 million dollars if this NEW private island in the British Virgin Islands is anything like its sister islands of Virgin Gorda and Peter Island it’s bound to be a beauty! I have to admit…

of all the places I’ve traveled the British Virgin Islands is still one of my favorites and I’ve been watching all the news about this new island closely. My bags are already packed as I’ve been promised to be one of the first visitors.

There has been some back and forth about what to call this island. Originally it was going to be marketed as “Mainsail Resort, Marina and Spa” but then the developers decided to use the island’s original name, Scrub Island. Not exactly the most glamorous name but I love that it’s authentic and embraces the true history of this little gem.

When completed there will be 65 unique places to stay including stunning two-bedroom villas built into the hillside with amazing views ( I’ve seen the plans) as well as multi-level villas each with a private infinity edge pool and smaller rooms and suites situated throughout the island. The developers say this private island won’t allow more than 200 residents or guests at any given time to keep the feel of the place intimate and secluded.

Also in the plans for this five-star property… three private sugar-sand beaches, a world-class marina and spa, four gourmet restaurants and bars, an astronomy observatory and even an amphitheatre made with natural stone.

Stay tuned…this is one new property you won’t want to miss!
